Considered one of the world’s best flamenco guitarists today, Juan Cristóbal Martín was worn in Malaga in 1948 and was initiated into the art of flamenco at the tender age of 6 and by the time he was 20 he moved to Madrid in pursuit of his dream, where he completed his studies and rubbed shoulders with greats such as Niño Ricardo and Paco de Lucía.
Soon later, Martin moved to London where he developed most of his career until today, including the very important family business known as Flamencovision.
Juan Martin was not exclusively dedicated to flamenco, he was also seduced by rock and jazz, collaborating with renowned British musicians such as Tony Hymas, Johnny Gustafson, Simon Phillips and Ian Mosley, along with the Irish Rory Gallagher and the Americans Herbie Hancock and the great Miles Davis.
Juan Martin is also the author of many flamenco guitar learning methods in both English and Spanish such as: The Art of the Flamenco Guitar and Solos Flamencos.
